my take.
According to a 2023 ProPublica study, Beaufort County, South Carolina is one of the most at-risk counties in the United States for climate change by 2050. The county’s location in the Lowcountry, just above sea level, makes it vulnerable to the effects of climate change, including:
- Sea level rise
- Heat
- Property damage
- Crop yields
